Socials and the Not Bummer Summer

It’s no secret that summer vibes have taken over socials. Tropical getaways, lookbooks, travel hacks, city parades- you name it! The question is: how can we, as multifamily marketers, incorporate the season into our content?

While we absolutely LOVE your amenities built for this season (resort-style pools, cabanas, sundecks, courtyards, and barbecues), your property will truly stand out by showcasing unique and unexpected ways your residents can spend their free time. Here are just a few ways you can elevate your content this season.

Summer Bucketlist: Make It Easy!

When prospects and residents alike are scrolling, they are scanning for information swiftly. Due to social media's fast-paced nature, information needs to be served on a silver platter. Essentially, don’t make scrollers dig for information.

Consider it an all-in-one approach: include local destinations such as new restaurants, water parks, farmers' markets, concerts, etc. Want to tailor it even more? Compile a list of events relevant to your city and amp up residents for the season.

Take, for example, Denver, CO, which hosts jazz performances every Sunday, an annual Cherry Blossom Festival, and PrideFest.

In short, current residents who have been long-term followers know what your amenities and features look like… they live there! Drive engagement with what further elevates their lifestyle. And for prospects who may be moving from out of town, get them keen on what the neighborhood has to offer!

Local Businesses: Bring The Heat!

With the heat going up, it’s time to cool down. If your property utilizes business-generated content, adjust strategy to summer sips and bites! Think breweries (a patio is a plus), ice cream parlors, barbecue joints, food trucks, smoothies- the list goes on.

The key to further highlighting these businesses is to paint the picture in the copy. Help the viewer visualize getting out on the town by utilizing phrases like “the first sip of summer,” “savor each sweet scoop,” or “cheers to pints and summer nights.” (You get the point).

Travel: Destinations Beyond Your Community

According to Numerator, 78% of Americans say they plan to take a summer vacation this year.

Differentiate your feed (and get residents pumped) with a reel or carousel highlighting nearby staycation escapes. Take the residents of Tempe, Arizona, for example. Just a few short hours away are hikes up the Grand Canyon, boating on Lake Havasu, and tranquil spa days in Sedona.

Is your community close to a major airport? It’s a great time to make it known!

Soak It All In

Your community isn’t just where residents call home; it’s their send-off spot for wherever summer takes them. From recommendations of where to spend warm evenings to travel content that breaks the barriers of multifamily norms, you’re sure to have the best feed yet.
